Head to Gulf Shores on the Alabama Gulf Coast this fall for the popular National Shrimp Festival presented by Zatarain’s and other sponsors, the fun event is held the 2nd full weekend in October on the beautiful whit-sand beaches in Gulf Shores, Alabama. The event is FREE to everyone! The Annual National Shrimp Festival is held at the public beach access in Gulf Shores where Hwy. 59 ends and intersects with Hwy. 182.

Enjoy fresh gulf seafood during this four-day outdoor event. This year the festival will play host to more than 80 hours of live musical entertainment featuring a lineup of national, regional and local performers. There will be musical acts to please all tastes, including Blues, Motown, Southern Rock, Jazz and Country. The music begins at 10 a.m. each day and runs through 10 p.m. Thursday through Saturday and 5 p.m. on Sunday. The festival is one of the nation’s top fall festivals with over 300k people attending annually and more than 300 vendors of fine art, arts & crafts, a retail marketplace, outdoor village and plenty of shrimp! There are 2 stages featuring live music while the attention of smaller children is captured in the Children’s Activity Village where they can make “art” and enjoy other fun-filled activities.

Families can compete in the annual sand sculpture contest on Saturday and kids can take part in a variety of activities in the newly relocated Children's Activity Village, including face-painting, karaoke and more. Runner and walkers can compete in the 10K or 5K races to help burn-off some of the food being offered at the festival. Art lovers can browse nearly 200 booths of fine art and arts & crafts vendors.

22nd Annual Honeybee Festival : Alabama Gulf Coast

8:00 AM - 9:00 PM

Location: Honeybee Park, Robertsdale, AL

The Annual Honeybee Festival will be held in Honeybee Park on Hwy 59 North in Robertsdale from 8 a.m. until 9 p.m. on Saturday, October 1. The free festival includes a 10 a.m. parade. Enjoy live and silent auctions and live entertainment while browsing the arts and crafts on display. The fun filled day full of activities will raise money for the Robertsdale Fire Department and Relay for Life. Events also include a kangaroo court, charity auction. entertainment by Dare To Dance dancers, a car show, a mechanical bull, train rides and an outdoor movie at 7 p.m. Admission is free.

9th Annual Thunder On The Gulf : Alabama Gulf Coast, Orange Beach-Gulf Shores

Race Village will be at the State Park Pavilion and will be jam-packed with excitement. It will be open to the public daily from 10 a.m.-8 p.m. This family-friendly event will allow race fans to observe monster race boats and their teams, let the kids play at the Kids Pavilion, purchase official race merchandise and check out the vendors. Saturday there will be live entertainment at Race Village from noon-4 p.m. Shuttles will be running from Gulf Shores and Orange Beach to all racing venues. 6 p.m. there will be a Boat Parade from Race Village at the State Park Pavilion to Main Street at the Wharf. Following the boat parade there will be a Gala in the Event Center featuring entertainment by the Tip Tops, a silent auction, hors d'oeuvres and a cash bar.

Thunder on the Gulf 2011 is rated as one of the Top 20 Events in the Southeast according to the Southeast Tourism Society.
