Head to Gulf Shores on the Alabama Gulf Coast this fall for the popular National Shrimp Festival presented by Zatarain’s and other sponsors, the fun event is held the 2nd full weekend in October on the beautiful whit-sand beaches in Gulf Shores, Alabama. The event is FREE to everyone! The Annual National Shrimp Festival is held at the public beach access in Gulf Shores where Hwy. 59 ends and intersects with Hwy. 182.
Enjoy fresh gulf seafood during this four-day outdoor event. This year the festival will play host to more than 80 hours of live musical entertainment featuring a lineup of national, regional and local performers. There will be musical acts to please all tastes, including Blues, Motown, Southern Rock, Jazz and Country. The music begins at 10 a.m. each day and runs through 10 p.m. Thursday through Saturday and 5 p.m. on Sunday. The festival is one of the nation’s top fall festivals with over 300k people attending annually and more than 300 vendors of fine art, arts & crafts, a retail marketplace, outdoor village and plenty of shrimp! There are 2 stages featuring live music while the attention of smaller children is captured in the Children’s Activity Village where they can make “art” and enjoy other fun-filled activities.

Families can compete in the annual sand sculpture contest on Saturday and kids can take part in a variety of activities in the newly relocated Children's Activity Village, including face-painting, karaoke and more. Runner and walkers can compete in the 10K or 5K races to help burn-off some of the food being offered at the festival. Art lovers can browse nearly 200 booths of fine art and arts & crafts vendors.
