Gulf Coast Red Snapper Fishing Season Approved for October & November
Federal fisheries managers today approved a weekend recreational red snapper season for the Gulf of Mexico in October and November.
The fall season will run Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays from 12:01 a.m. Oct. 1 through 12:01 a.m. Nov. 22. The daily bag limit remains two fish per person, with a 16-inch minimum.
The season will be “a huge boost” for the area suffering from the dire economic effects of the BP oil spill, especially the charter fishing industry.
