Make plans to attend the Free Bird and Conservation Expo, part of the John L. Borom Alabama Coastal BirdFest, October 5th from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on the grounds of Faulkner State College in Fairhope, offers hands-on fun and activities for kids of all ages with live raptors and snakes and displays and exhibits from conservation organizations, vendors, artists, and divisions of the Alabama Department of Conservation and Natural Resources.
There will be expert-guided field-trips by foot and on boat to birding locations on the Alabama Coastal Birding Trail available. The northern Gulf Coast location makes this area a major stopover for migratory birds from all over North America, the fall is an excellent time to add many varieties of species to your list.
