Adventurous scuba-divers are exploring the LuLu, an artificial diving reef in the Gulf of Mexico is located 17 nautical miles from the Gulf Shores/Orange Beach on the Alabama Gulf Coast, The LuLu is a 271-foot intact freighter sunk in 2013. With the wheelhouse starting at 60 feet and a bottom depth of approximately 115 feet, there's plenty of structure to explore, offering an exciting wreck diving opportunity for everyone...new and experienced divers alike.
The LuLu, a sunken freighter, is located 17 nautical miles south of Perdido Pass and Orange Beach (+29° 59' 50" / -87° 33' 00") and joins the area off the Alabama coast that is the site of the largest artificial reef program in the United States. This newest reef wreck is at a perfect depth for beginner diver certification with fifty foot depth clearance at the top of the wreck and also attractive for the very experienced recreational diver down at the bottom level depth of 115 feet.
